A 222 Remington

Two glitches with BSA in the fine 222: often the barrel twist rate is 40 grain bullet friendly; that aggressive rollover cheekpiece much like early Anschutz rifles. They are not LH friendly. Which is too bad because they are mini Mauser action.
 
It is not beat up.
If someone is interested ---make me an offer.



This was my Father's rifle purchased new in 1954.

He died in 1979--this rifle has not been fired in a long time.

Not to belabour the point, but since you chose to run a WTS ad in the discussion forum... an original stock is a road map to the "life & times" of a rifle, I can believe it has been fired little, but it has certainly been around the block, and "may" (rightfully, in the mind of a buyer) have seen rough use and possibly little care. That has to be taken into consideration when valuing a piece, but even more so, having it listed for more than 12 MONTHS, should be a pretty good indicator for you of your valuation, at least it would seem to be a pretty strong reality check. It will probably be a good rifle for someone, but you are going to have to make some concession as to the price... if you really are "anxious" to sell it.
 
It is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it!
I had no idea how to price it.

I tried to make it clear that I was open to reasonable offers----which is still the case.

Shooting gophers isn’t hunting. It’s shooting. I can do that at a gun club.
And besides, I need someone to have lunch with.

Next spot. Rancher will only let me shoot badgers if I shoot the gophers too. I don’t have enough bullets for that. Off I go.
