A 222 Remington

A nice pair

Beauty.

Most yes. They generally back most of the way down their hole and stare back at you.
The one above was spotted at 175 yards after blowing on a rabbit call for a few minutes, didn’t leave area of the hole but provided a high shoulder shot. Or at least that’s where the bullet ended up going. 40 vmax is an amazing varmint bullet. No kicking, flipping or dragging, just dead.

The guts were blown out pretty good but the wings covered that nicely.
A month ago I shot three young crows with the triple deuce. All on the corner of a fence line. The first one was a nice puff. The others just watched. Gave me some time to line the other two up just right. They both went down at the sound of the next shot. I smiled.
Better then deer hunting? Maybe. Almost.

It is not beat up.
If someone is interested ---make me an offer.

This was my Father's rifle purchased new in 1954.

Nearly 70 years after your Dad originally bought it, I did again for my growing 222 remington collection. Refinished it and put on a new scope. Turned out to have a real nice piece of wood under the finish.
Will get out and shoot it soon. Thanks for the deal.

Nice that it worked out for you both... stock looks much better... that is the beauty of wood, it can be reclaimed.

Shot it yesterday, the comb is very high and I believe that my vertical in the groups is related to inconsistent pressure on the cheek piece. Shot well otherwise. Enjoyed that.

50 badgers this summer with the Sako McGowen 222. I’m glad I built this rifle. Thanks for watching this unfold.

You really racked up a total, brother.
Lots of fun I am sure... great little rifle. The .222 is such a sweet little cartridge.

Fine tuned a load for the BSA 222
40 vmax, 22.5 RL7 2.13" WSR IVI brass, 5 shots at 100 yards, 3650 fps. This is a beautiful little rifle and it wants to shoot well too.

No I don’t have any 4198. I need to restock with a supply of fast burn powder but I’m waiting for a deal. Might be waiting a long time. I’ll keep an eye out for 4198 for sure.
