Got one, dont use it so much, have not seen day light for a while, but its one of the best all round cartridges you can get for Canada.

If you are worried about effective ranges and accuracy with a 30-06 there was a guy in the 1970s that proved its capability a few times, from top of Hill 55 with a M 70, pre 64, topped with a 8Xs scope. He did ok in a few matches as well with this round..

I have mine. I will never part with it. BSA sporterized P-17.
But .... I have not hunted with it yet, I may be able to catch the last part of mule/whitey season if I am lucky.
I used to have a Savage 110G .30-06 . i know people say savages are good guns , but this one would kick you had enough to loosen your teeth. Gunsmith said it had a tight chamber, and I got rid of it, pronto.

I have a parker hale 30-06 with a ncstar 6x24x50 scope on it and it is a hevy setup but man is it accurate

I was GIVEN a mint Remington 760 30-06 and wow is it ever a shooter. I can see staying in my collection for a long time!!

do i own one? No! Do i want one? maybe but its not at the top of my list! theres just other cartridges that i would like to have. But its a really great cartridge thats for sure! i have seen many many moose fall to the 06!

Got a 22LR, 223 rem, 308, 12 gauge and a 300WM and can't see a place for the venerable ought six. I believe I have the useful spectrum of what I need covered without it. Nothing against it, just that it would be redundant.

3 primary hunting rifles are all 30-06 - Rem 7600, Win Mod 70 F'wt and Mossy 100 ATR...all of them are most accurate with 150 grn rounds.
