A .308 Surplus Ammo Oracle (As of Feb. 23/07)

I just bought a case from Districorp... he said he "has a few cases left"...

You bought a case? Sorry to contradict you, but I just spoke with the fellow on the telephone and he has maybe a sleeve (140 rnds) to sell. I was asked to let everyone know that there not a "few cases left". :(

I snoozed, and I lose.

I talked to our Range officer/importer, and he says that a lot of the surplus was made in the 80s and 90s, and therefore a limited supply. It doesn't sound like there will be a lot of readily available milsurp... at least in 7.62X51... and I'm guessing that this will be the case until manufacturers ramp up supply. Has anyone seen some newer stuff come available?

Gotta find something else to feed my M-14 :(

Can a mod please update this thread to show that there's no surplus available before I start calling all the distributors listed as having stock? It appears that there are some posts indicating that none is available...

And it's strange about the cambodian tire price -- at the coquitlam one on Lougheed it's around $20 a box for Federal... with very few boxes actually on the shelf!

I was at CDN Tire today(Mission) (passing through only....lol) It was 16.00 for 150 gr fed. power shock, I saw 3-4 boxes, same amount in Abbotsford as well

Yah Federal powershocks from Canadian tire seem to be whats cheap for us for now...hopefully they keep em stocked often.

I find they shoot pretty darn accurate for el-cheapo soft point ammo...at least the 180grain did in my k98.

S.I.R. in Winnipeg has the Federal for $13 and change per box.
10 boxes cost $154. Pretty good deal but still not Surplus prices.

Meh, that would even out when you throw in shipping vs local canadian tire pickup still.

So not quite enough to warrant ordering.

Lucky those who live in winterpeg though.

Hi all,

Ellwood has a few cases (their words) left of SA surplus as of yesterday. Around $420 for the case, and $50ish per battle pack if you buy that way.
