A 597 is the best rimfire out there, change my mind

I sold mine long ago, was a jamming machine. Double feeds, stovepipes, extraction issues. Was rare to get through a mag without an issue. Probably more of a terrible mag design than rifle design as no mag I ever used worked very well. Bought a 10/22, miles more reliable for me.

Just curious... did u ever work over ur 597 or just buy it & shoot it? As well for the 10/22?

tried one out once, didnt care for it.
wasnt reliable.
my sample group of 1 dosnt really count for much but its all ive tried.

ive tried from time to time to taste other semi auto 22's but at the end of the day i always come back to the 10/22's.
it all boils down to if you get a lemon and if you like the fit and feel.
for me, its 10/22's.
i know 1 fella that likes the 597's, granted he eats red crayons and licks the moisture off car windows.......
(i kid, i kid!!!)

it is hard to beat the cheap price of the 597's now a days.
everything Ruger just seems to climb up in price every year.
