hey folks, extremly happy

I just nailed the triple slam!!!!!!

at 5:20 a small deer came in at 20 yrds, at first I thought it was a doe, but then looked closer at the hocks and the forehead and discovered that it was a button buck, I have said all along that all I wanted was antler, I know its not the right way to practise quality deer managemant, but since I was cold, and tired and had just passed the 49 hr mark, I decided I would give him the treatment.

first shot at 20 yrds was a miss, I sailed my arrow about an inch above his back, he then took 5 steps and returned quatering away at 21 yrds, I compensated and drilled both his lungs with my broad head, the arrow sailed right through him and after a 40 yrd run, he piled up under a dead tree. oddly enough he didnd't bleed to much,

but I'm extremly elated, and so proud of myself for getting a boar, bull, and buck in one year, my first year bowhunting.

so from now on, its only trophy bucks, and I finally get to take the M700 out,

Great stuff,
just remember that first shot, figure out why you thought it was a longer shot than what it was. Size of the animal, cover, or whatever..
This will help in the future , so that trophy buck will be hit in the same spot as your follow up shot on the button buck.
I found during my days of hunting with sights on a bow that with 1 pin dialed in for 20 meters , you can easily correct for close and far shots.
Just a little info from an old archer.
You seem to have it going on, enjoy some fine eating over the winter.

Oh , and there is nothing wrong with a button buck, excellent game management.

what happend was In the heat of the moment, I didn't take into consideration that the arrow hits high from a tree stand, that and him jumping the string didn't help. I had pre ranged teh shot, so I knew at this tree he was 20 yrds away.

for the second shot, I still used my 20 yrd pin, but I just aimed a bit lower,as I expected him to jump the string again( which he did, but he jumped the string in my favour, meaning he came down to the arrow)
