In my first year of having a PAL, I managed to acquire 7 different rimfires. It's about time I sell 3-4 of them, and just settle on one nice bolt-action rimfire.(I didn't pay over 350 for any of them).
I'm going to be shooting in the woods/fields a lot from September to March 31 (thanks to NS gun regs, then I'll have to drive 45 mins to nearest DNR range....) so can't really bother with a case queen that needs a clean range with a booth and hard case etc as it will surely get scratched by branches and being carried (unless there's a bookbag-soft case I'm not aware of?)
Just looking for suggestions, around $700 CAD feels right to me. Not sure if I feel strongly about wood or synth stock either way (my 308 ruger American predator is moss green plastic), but I feel like a shorter (~18"?) barrel would really come in handy for transit through these dense softwood forests.
I'll be sporting a 4.5-18x scope on it, and intend to shoot 1-300yards (as I'm making a shooting lane on my property to shoot targets). Not sure about running a bipod or bringing bags.
Laminated stocks really excite me.
Tactical looking mono-color chassis' excite me.
Bolt handles near the trigger excite me.
Accuracy of 1moa excite me.
Stainless steel annoys me
Cheers!
