a beater precision 22?

For what its worth, I grabbed a CZ 455 with irons off the EE. Shot 5/5 on a 2" spinner target at 40y on the only day I took it out, so pretty damn swell in my eyes. I've never done that with with any of my other 22's (but have also never tried hehe)
Only issue I have is I now want another cz to mount the 4-18 optic I have onto it and make a stock, but always feel so bad about replacing the factory ones.

Never owned a 457, but I hear they are nice, I did own a 455 in .22 and one in 17HMR. YoDave trigger kits, work magic on the 455s. I still own a Brno #2 that I installed a YoDave trigger kit in, and it is the sweetest shooting and best looking .22 I have ever owned. Highly figured walnut front to back.
Barrel changing is not a thing for me. If you shoot with a scope, you need to re-zero each time. PITA.
Beater precision .22lr? ---> Savage Mark 2 FV-SR... Best I have shot was just under 5" @ 300m with Lapua Center-X.

Then to purchase a CZ which I trust will not turn into a beater unless I am missing the definition.
Use it but don't ABuse it.
The CZ's are well made and very serviceable. Pillar bedding with tested ammo will put 5 and sometimes ten inside one inch.
The YoDave trigger kit will get the trigger down to one pound or less.
These rifles are capable of being put into your will but we don't want to go there.

I have four 22lr's that might fit your category, beater/ precision. Two Brno model 1's, an original Browning t2 t-bolt and an Anschutz/CIL 310. All four rifles, because of cosmetic reasons, were purchased at very reasonable prices, all are mechanically excellent and all four consistently shoot under an inch at 50 yards. If I feed them good ammo/ match they are usually around or under 1/2 inch. All four classic, quality rifles that I don't feel bad about dragging through the bush or throwing in the truck. Deals are out there, depends on what you're looking for?

I’ve got a 597 HB that I replaced the hammer and extractor with volquartson parts. I polished the bolt and loosened the guide rods and it shoots like a dream. Currently it has a regular nylon stock, a sling and a knock off trijicon rmr and it goes everywhere with me. Great truck or quad gun, shorter yet heavy barrel means it’s still not bad to carry in the woods. It’s my go too .22 right now, and I’ve got lots!

It's a question of degree though, right? There's no reason a woods carry rifle can't be "very accurate" while still being able to handle "reasonable field wear". Whatever those two concepts mean to you.
This is in contrast to something you might call a "delicate range rifle" that you can expect a bit more accuracy out of, with the tradeoff that you wouldn't want to use it in the field.

The Savage line of 22LR rifles are made in Peterborough Ontario as another token. CZ & Tika new or used are also great options. I suggest staying away from the Norinco due to parts. My vote is for the Mk II Savage or a CZ. The Tika has been making waves and I’m interested but have no direct experience/knowledge with it so I can’t comment on them. This forum isn’t the best place for this particular question as I’ve never seen any rimfire information on CGN like what is found on others like SnipersH and RimfireC.....

I've shot a couple rimfire PRS matches with mine, and if they were still available new for cheap, I would absolutely buy another. As it is, I just bought a skinny barrel EM332A (same action with a thinner barrel, different stock, and 10 round mags, available new for around $200) for my son as a birthday gift, so hopefully they are as accurate as everyone seems to claim. I know I'm very happy with the accuracy of my NS522, and I'm pretty sure it's me rather than the gun to blame for any misses. No money was spent on the rifle itself aside from some JBweld for stock bedding, just time.
I just bought a better scope for PRS matches, which also required new rings, and those cost about 5 times more than the rifle did originally.
