hello everybody, new dog in the house....I like it here....I sure hope I can stay a while....
My name is Zdog, I would like to consider myself as a hunter first, target shooter second and that my guns are my tools (and really cool things to play with). Been in this hobby for about ten years and currently own a sako 75 ss with euro diamond scope, winchester sx3 turkey gun with two extra barrels one rifled with bushnell 6500 and the other 28" smooth, benelli nova pump and if I'm allowed to mention an excaliber (made in canada)vortex crossbow with all the fixin's. Next on the wish list is a cool 22wmr semi that I'm eyeing.
but enough about me time to get more into the site....thanks for listening

...I thought from the title of your post that someone was reporting on their hunting trip where they shot a big coyote and an out of season ruffed grouse!

Welcome.

Howdy fellow Oakvillian! I just joined as well, new to the sport but this forum is very helpful and I'm sure glad I found it. Enjoy your stay and if I may ask are you a member of a local range? I'm looking to join Burlington rifle and revolver club but still considering my options.
hey hawkeye thanks for the welcome.
I'm a member at dufferin- northern peel anglers and hunters association in orangeville. A little bit further but a lot more useful. We have 100 yard range, skeet and trap, archery range, 3d archery range and two very large stocked ponds on about 120 acres of land, oh ya camping as well. limited to only 250 members. I heard from members at burlington that the people are very stiff there and not to much fun also sounds very expensive for what you get. if you need to know more let me know.

Wow, that sounds like my kinda place, one stop fishing and shooting!! Sounds like it must be near impossible to get in if they only allow 250 members?

Yeah I think I'm going to pass on Burlington. I like the idea of being outside and having more then a 50 yrd range to choose from. Seems like its the best bang for the buck, only prob is its a nice little drive.

Do they have an area that one could fire a defender shotgun with a pistol grip? I'd be happy with just a pile of dirt to shoot at to be honest.

I need to acquire some guns first but I'm thinking I'll prolly end up at Silverdale. Thanks for the heads up!

Silverdale has an action range for your shotty, a total of 7 ranges as well as 2 trap ranges, archery jungle lane, campgrounds etc.
Lots of parties as well.
Once the weather warms up there will be 3 gun matches every Saturday open to all. IPSC TDSA IDPA SASS etc. shooters can do serious practice and novices can play as well.
