A big package of AWESOME arrived today. Now with range report.

That is not a G36 read the side it says SL8 and .223 rem and it has a stock block its a conversion.

All aside though its is an awesome conversion. I would like one myself. Just need a New SL8 and all the parts. Anyone help me out with that???

It should look like this if its a real G36

Good things stay around on Gunnutz. :D

I love the Dual Optic, but I have always been a sucker for a G36 with a good ol' EOtech mounted.

agreed, i always had the short rail with my eotech mounted on it.

real accurate gun from the prone or when the bipod was in use (carrying it not so much...)

loved the G36 mags though

i found it to be a very smooth and accurate rifle. reason i sold it though was because it was so damn front heavy! and i couldnt justify hanging onto $4000 tied up into a rifle i wasnt 100% thrilled about.

looked great, but not very practical day to day...

Is that the SL8 stock kit from sl8.de? I heard they were not exporting those anymore...

I am going to try and track down one of the T-bostic PSG stocks for my rifle. They look rather nice (no longer resemble a G36, but they are a different look altogether.).

They sell on khpro for about $350, but I doubt they ship to Canada.

Finally got it out to the range today and put exactly 250 rounds through it.

My impressions are as follows:

- This is a hugely fun gun to shoot, and everybody at the range was asking about it.

- Trigger has some slack, but breaks cleanly at around 7 lbs. The action on this is about the smoothest of any semi auto that I have ever handled.

- It is surprisingly accurate even with factory loads. I was consistantly doing under 2.5" groups at 100 meters. While rapid firing, (1 round per second or so) I was able to keep groups under 5" using either the 3x scope or the red dot. I have yet to use the Eotech on it, but I will get around to it.

- As chris stated, the gun is a little front heavy, so I removed the factory bipod and the three pitticanny rails that are on the front guard, and wouldnt you know it... the rifle became very close to perfectly balanced. (Still a tiny bit front heavy due to the bull barrel, but the accuracy makes up for that)

- I need more mags. Alot more mags. This gun is going to be shot alot.

All in all, I am hugely happy with this purchase. AWESOME! :D

Here is the only target I took home, and not my best, but the rest were shot up by other shooters trying it out.

This target was shot by me at 100 meters while rapid firing, 5 rounds with the 3x scope, and 5 rounds with the red dot. One was a flyer.
