I'd like to pick up a 9mm for plinking. What I would like is a reliable pistol that feeds reloads as well as commercial ammo that is reasonably accurate. I used to have a CZ that did just that and was quite accurate as well. And as is the story I foolishly sold it on the board.:mad:

What would be a good replacement for this gun. I would like to spend under $400 so my options are limited. I know Norcs will work but are there any other possibilities I should look at in the used category ?
 
Finding a non-Norinco for under $400 will be tough, and maybe impossible. I'm thinking the cheapest 9mm would be maybe a older Glock 17 (maybe a Gen 2?) or an older CZ75, or maybe a Ruger P85?
 
2 Good Choices.

A brand new Glock17 is about C$599.00. That's only a little over your used price. Plus, a S&W M&P is around C$575.00 new.
Two very good choices. If you just want to shoot lead, then the S&W would provide more value with their conventional barrel. Save up a couple more bucks and you are there.....
 
Don't be afraid to go with the Norc Sig 226 clone. My friend just bought one and I'm totally impressed with it for accuracy and function. 300 rounds so far and not one failure.
 
Glocks are cheap like borscht now, so you could grab a G17 for a little over your limit (although they aren't meant for lead reloads, of course), and the CZ75 could be found for a good price used as well.
 
get a glock, as much as I hate them (YES I AM A H&K USP SNOB) they arn't chinese slave labour guns and judging a gun on "it hasn't blown up yet" has never been a good way to justify buying a Norichinko. The new glocks are going for around 600 or so from wolverine and they have FREE SHIPPING in july I think. :) Plus there are a million mods for these guns and their function and warranty is flaweless. Course the best part is you can put them in the dishwasher to clean with the rest of your tupperware :)

little known fact on this one there, they shoot lead just fine. the helixial barrels work just fine WHAT they don't like is the wax build up from Semi wad cutters. I've got over 10,000 rounds through my USP .45 and similar through a G-17 and the only "failure" i've had is when a round doesn't want to feed properly because the lead digs into something on the feed ramp. Plus the wax builds up a bit once and a while on the feed ramp if you don't clean it properly when reloading.... :shotgun:
 
There are three guns coming to my mind right away.
One is CZ, great gun, all depends how much shooting you gonna do with it.
Some have issues with slide stop, usually has to be replaced after 5-10K rounds.
Glock has its reputation. Great gun, lots of plastic and IMO hard to shoot very accurately.
XD, it is a new gun, but many guys like it. Again, plastic gun and takes time to get used to.

Some of us "Chinks" in Canada are single issue voters who vote Conservative even though we disagree with many of their other political viewpoints in order to support our rights and the rights of "Non-chinks" to own guns.

Many Chinese Canadians hate Communist China as much (or more) as any Caucasian in N.America.

Hey if you hate Communist China and love HK's you and I could chat for hours on such topics...Just leave out the racist comments please.
 
Armco, one of our site supporter, very often he has well used CZ guns for very reasonable price. Good thing about CZ and Glock is they are reliable and easy to get parts.

I got a surplus P-38 for $400. It fun to shoot but the recoil is much worse than my Glock. If that's your first gun or only gun, I would say stay away from P-38. It's out of date.
