I am thinking of getting a a-bolt stainless stalker in 7mm Mag.

how does it compare to T3 lite stainless and savage weather warrior, in terms of finish(barrel and stock), material used on parts?

is it better made than the other two?

thanks

The a-bolts are well finished, but they have an overdesigned magazine system and trigger assembly, and contain more parts than necessary. The more parts, the more to go wrong.

Savage Stainless or Rem 700 SPS Stainless

I'd get a Savage stainless or a Rem 700 SPS stainless before I'd shell out the big bucks for another stainless Browning A-bolt....;)

my question is not about accuracy, is not about design.

my question is does a-bolt stainless stalker have better finish and use better material than the other two?

thanks

It's the same but different... :p

The real answers are 'no' and 'no'....;)

"...paying $200($300) more for?..." It says Browning on it. Adds that much to the price. Not that there's anything wrong or better with it. They're just more expensive. Think in terms of cars. If the model says Oldsmobile, it costs more than a Chevy, just for the name.

this post completely changed my mind on A-bolt. Damn, I have to start over my reasearch.

since I am a lefty shooter, tikka's left hand t3 lite stainless is not shipped yet. I think I am gonna go with one of Savage.

Nothing wrong with the A-Bolt. I have one and wouldn't hesitate to buy another. Mind you, I also have a Savage, Ruger and Winchester too.

Do we share a gun safe? Ditto on those. However, I love my Stainless Stalker in .300 Win Mag. I don't know "extra parts" and "design" from rabbits, but I know it can Robin Hood my shots at 100 yds and my avatar shows what it does at between 200 and 300. Got it at $250.00 off regular price too! What's not to like?

Savage. The real ##### is picking a model as their product line is huge. Why did you choose the 7mag? not pissing on your fire, just a civilised question.

I have a Stainless Stocker and have no problem with it for all these years. It is my go to rifle hunting rifle for extreme bad weather. I remember one time hunting in freezing rain the bolt assembly was completely frozen. The rifle fired just the same.

In my opinion the Browning fit and finish is at least one cut better than any Savage. Savage is accurate and reliable as well. But they lack in workmanship (and fewer parts - that is a new one for me ). I wouldn't be too far by saying Savage in a rifle is like a Chrysler in cars - cheap basic transportation but the finish is not exactly top rated.

$200-$300 over the life span of ownership is really nothing. Buy the one that you like and feel more comfortable with. Trust your own judgment.

Used to own a A-Bolt in 7mmRM. Nice rifles, but way overpriced. A Savage or SPS is a better buy. A Stalker will cost you double the price of either of these others.

^^ X2!! .....Wholesale Sports sells the stainless SPSs for $600. Good deal! I bought one in 270 and was pleased with it.

Yeah, too bad the Rem 700 SPS stainless isn't in 7mm WSM [yet] - then I'd be all set...
