A boy's first deer

My hunting buddy's boy has been coming out with us for a few years, but this was his first year actually hunting (he's 14). He had a couple of chances on some mulie does, and then was finally able to get a shot on this doe with his Dad's 270 at about 100 yards. Antlerless tags are sure a great way to get a youngster into hunting!

Oh yeah.... he's been helping skin / field dress them for a few years now!

That's Great. It's also real nice that a youth wildlife cert. comes with a birdgame licence. I'm not sure who's prouder, the hunter, or poppa, haha. Looks to me like it's a tossup.

I keep a photo album @ the cabin,I have a few pics of a great Bud's son with his first Deer and Bear.(was there for the bear) Shot his deer with one of my guns.It is a great way to keep the sport going and alot of fun with young hunters.
