A brand new russian sks

They are called "unrefurbished" but there are still quite a few marks and dings on them from years of storage. Ive never seen one yet that looks brand spanking new, like it was made yesterday.

This one I bought today is flawless, I got to hand pick it... cost $159 from Lever Arms. made in 1954

I don't care about some dings and mark, I just want something new mechanically!!

The refurbs were brought back to "mechanically new" standards, then put into storage. So you shouldn't be concerned no matter what. But unrefurbished Russian SKS's can be found without much difficulty. Read the stickies on what to look for. I never use the term "unissued", though some of mine may be. No way to prove it.

Shipping marks lol .. they probably have travelled around the world before ending here

The have quite a few at Lever, I had my pick out of about 40 rifles. They all looked pretty good really considering they're almost 60 years old, saw the odd light ding but saw many that looked like the one I picked, virtually flawless.

Tonnes of oil though, literally sopping in it, when I cleaned it the rags and paper towel were soaked. I gather its to keep moisture away while in storage... it works, the insides were preserved like new. If you look this thing over you'd swear it was made last week, the only exception would be the ammo pouches & cleaning kit that came with it, they are a bit tired... the sling however is in great shape.

$159 folks and lots left

I found a non issued non refurbished '54 tula all matching (even the stock) for $200 local.

The bolt carrier bolt and gas piston are shiny polished sharp edged steel! :D

I've never seen one in brand new condition until I picked this one up. It's literally brand new off the machining line condition. I haven't shot her yet. Anxious to see what she will do in all original brand new condition.

I'm still going to shoot the unholy hell out of it like it was any other SKS. I don't collect guns

Well if that's all you go by, then I have lots of unissued SKSs. Reminds me of how every guy with a '65 Mustang will tell you "It's really a '64 1/2".
