Only if they had a broken and stuck firing pin which would happen on the rare occasion and in their parts kit they included a spare for this reason. I had one that did slam fire on occasion until on inspection I found the front half of the firing pin broken as the cause when I stripped the bolt. After I replaced the firing pin with a new one from a parts kit it soldiered on for about 10 years and hundreds if not thousands of rounds without another issue before I sold it.

As for the price, that is what military semi-autos now tend to go for. I remember buying a SVT-40 for $250 not all that many years ago too, how much are they selling for now?

The one that had a out of battery detonation for me had a intact firing pin. It can happen in spite of the spring. It was a rushed early semi-auto design which wouldn’t pass muster today. Still a cool piece of history though.

Same here, just made a gas regulator for mine, turned it down so it will just cycle and no more throwing the brass into the next province.
use the same loading now as for the Swedish bolt guns, and gives same muzzle velocity and accuracy.
 
Mine came with a little pack of spare parts, which included another firing pin spring. I added this spring to the existing spring. With 2 springs installed, the risk of slam fire was really reduced.


The only way a modified AG42b is worth $2,000 is if it now looks like a mint Garand.
