Got a call on the weekend from the M14 Doc. Seems he had to test fire a bunch of "projects" and needed a hand. Didn't have to think twice about that one. We met at the Range Sunday morning and the fun began.
Got to see a lot of different versions of the M14: some traditional and some with some pretty high tech stocks, muzzle brakes, barrels, etc. Got to shoot a bunch of them and got to watch the good Doc do his magic on them. You learn a lot about these rifles just talking to Thomas. Sure makes you feel like one or two M14's just isn't enough.

Recognize the barrel? Nice

Interesting muzzle brake. Works well but man is it loud!!

OK, now let's do a function test on this one.

Second one in was a great shooter with really nice wood.

Anyone recognize their rifle here yet? Should be heading out your way soon, you lucky SOB.

yes indeed :D
and she's a fine shooter indeed.
got her printing pretty darn close to zero at 100 with my eyes and your irons. will make a small adjustment of about 16 thou to the front sight windage and i think we are good to go. I'll email you before the week is out.

I know I know...... thanx for that sight by the way.... I love it :D
it was actually not that bad way out on the sage handguard and i needed something to vizualize the target with due to the sage handguard blocking use of the front sight. served it's purpose for getting us on paper for the test fire.

quick question about the first picture , have you found any negative effect on the zero of the optic with it being so close to the reciprocating mass of the op rod ?

Wanna spare a shim for a gas lock that tightens at 9oclock ? lol .

no but i was concerned with brass hitting my precious leupold LOL
i only put that sight on for test firing the rifle and it saw 20 rounds then i took it off.

as for shims, I'm still waiting on a brownells order for shim packs so at this time i only have what i need to finish off some builds.

most dec/jan bookings are complete with a couple booked with custom stocks that are getting close. Most of the late jan feb bookings are complete save for me having to wait for Dlask to reopen from thier extended holidays so i can pick up my order of flash hiders and brakes. The next few weeks will see me test firing 4 more sages, 2 AKM's, a troy, several DMR/krieger builds and a handful of Squad rifle mods. I'll try and team up with Rugerman again so we can take some more cool photos :D :D
gotta love the m14 ####

This thread is like getting the Sears wish book at Christmas time when we were kids!
Looking forward to seeing the next batch of pictures.(I want that one, and that one, and that one, and that one, and I really like that one) LOL
