So what happens when a couple of CGNers decide to bring a "few" rimfire toys out to play? Lots of fun for sure and maybe one or two targets hit and a "few" small groups on paper too. Steel was out to 182 yards and started at 50 yards, so no shots at a mile today. Good times with some very nice rifles. That view of the long table was worth the drive!!!

No fingers harmed in the last pic....;)

A big thank you to PGW Steve and Toolman for the invite! Next time we need to get some serious distance in at the beach!

Here is what you need for that smooth bore, this one is an actual one from back in the day, and they used tiny little thrower to go with.

Thanks for coming out guys, especially Mike from Canmore for bringing all the toys!! The spent brass bucket needs to move into a bigger container after today. The gun table was very well stocked with a diverse selection of rimfire rifles, and one smoothbore. It's too bad the little airgun targets didn't shatter when hit with the #12's, that would have been the highlight of the day.....That, and you hitting a pin that I spun edge on at 182.

Looks like you guys just might have had some fun! What is that tan colored thing in the background!

And every one says the weather in winter peg sucks. I would love to have that as we had fog and rain all weekend in the gloomy Okanogan. Nice collection of rimfires. Is that a homemade range in a farmer s field?

I can get to 130 yards on my property to the back stop, farther if I cut trees. The farmer that has all the fields around my place is super nice and said we are welcome to shoot onto his property. The nearest building in a 30 degree arc behind the back stop is 4420 meters. Looking at the field firing range templates in the range guidelines, I still have a lot of extra safety room. The way the land rises up just past where the steel was set is an extra bonus. He said I'm welcome to get dump truck loads of sand along the grassy area next to the ditch/creek, which I'll most likely do for extra awesome.

Great post and of course...a pretty impressive stable of rimfire rifles too! I have 7 rimfires at the moment (6 x 22lr, 1 x 17HMR) and here I was thinking I need to whittle that down a little! :)

Looks like a great day out, thanks for taking the time to post...and share the photos.

And to think that some people claim that they outgrow their rimfire rifles. Shooting those little guys never gets old. :)

Wow every rifle has its own scope ? What model scope was on the most rifles ?
Which rifles did everyone like the most ?

Leupold and bushnell had the biggest numbers, there was also 1 March on the table as well.

Best rifle was the Match 54......I may be biased however as it the the most accurate rimfire I now own.....the other two guys may say different lol.

What a nice collection of Rimfires. [This statement from a rimfire junky, lol]

I only have 18 of them at present, but have been as high as 27.

Most of mine sport Leupold optics....the special ones have 36X on them, a couple of slightly lesser ones have 24x on board.
Then there are 6.5-20 EFR's, a couple with VX II, 2-7's.

My favorite rimfire is the Suhl 150 Standard, which is the most accurate rimfire I have ever owned or seen, for that matter.
The 40X is not far behind, and the Remington M37 is also a front runner. The Annie 54 Match is also worthy of honorable mention.
A Winchester 52 Sporter is a great shooter as well.

Three 541s and a 581 round out the Remington stable. 3 CZ's [452 Americans in 22LR and 17HMR and a 452 LUX in 22 WMR]
Have a number of older Mossbergs, mostly with Mannlicher stocks, but a couple without.
Ahhh! the rimfire rifle...a marvellous toy with which to spend time without breaking the bank.

Regards, Dave.

That Match 54 is a very special rifle! Just need some great glass on top now. I think the Fortners will give it a run for Top spot and the 40XB will be right there too! :)

You do have a great spot! Living the good life with that range. Thanks again for the invite out to play!
