A friend of him asked me to help sight in his new to him sako 85 SS in 7mm remington. Any empties you try to eject just lay in the action. No it’s not bouncing off the scope, I can tell you for certain. It’s like the ejector has been removed!

Can’t believe A, these things still leave the factory, and B his brother in law sold him a broken gun lol.

Good question. He’s a factory ammo guy and I don’t have a 7 mag. Just federal blue box for now. Do you think it could be related to rim dimensions?

If the extractor claw isn't gripping the rim tightly, the empty can't hit the extractor rail with any force. The empty may even be slipping off the claw on the way out.

Get yer phone out and film the extraction of a (spent) round in slow motion from various angles. That might give you some insight into whats happening. It could be the extractor claw, too loose based on the spring tension or simply sloppy.

Seems like the case is falling out of the extractor before it hits the ejector. Maybe I’ll try a stiffer spring
