A do it all bullet for a .338win mag

In a Wallow West of Edmonton.
I'm trying to pick a good all round bullet for my new tikka. I hunt everything from deer to elk and moose, no bears, at least not yet. I'm leaning towards the hornady 225g interbond, but am also considering the 210g and 225g Nosler Partitions. I'm thinking the interbond would be the best allround bullet at a good value. Comments?

Either the 225 or 250 Interlock would be a great choice in your 338 Mag. The 225 Interbond is also a good choice but I personally feel the 250 standard cup & core Interlock is just as good.

The Nosler Partitions are always a safe bet but I would recommend you use the 225 or heavier bullets as that is where the 338 Mag really shines. If you wanted to use a 210 you may as well have stuck to one of the 300 mags with a 200.

With all that said if I had to pick just one bullet for hunting all Canadian game with the 338 it would be the 225 grain Nosler Accubond.
 
i tried two 200 gr ballistic tip and 200 speer at low velocity , 2500 fps made big holes in two different mulie bucks, glad i didnt shoot them at higher velocity, i found that 225 hornadys and bigger work better not so much ruined meat
 
I took my moose this year with my 338 Ultra and 225gr Interbonds. Bullet came back at 185.5grs. 50yrd shot at 2950fps, broke both shoulders, lungs and was under the hide on the off shoulder. Nothing wrong with that!!!

I use the Sierra 250 GMK great load and have shot some game with it. Very impressed about the expansion but yet not making a mess. Seems to drive looney sized holes through the animal and did not fragment when hitting bone.
I also found these to be one of the most accurate bullets for the 338s with H4350 at 2650 FPS they group under a moa and pack a punch worthy of mention.
 
I've used the 338wm a little bit and I used my friends load which was a 250 nosler partition with H4350 pushing it. It was accurate enough (about 1.25-1.5" at 100 yds - though that could just be me!) and I've seen it work well on a very large northern BC moose and a nice old mountain goat.
 
there's a reason why an awful lot of 338 is in 250- that's your supposed do it all bullet- the reason i say supposed is the 275 speer was the do it all with better b/c and s/d but they don't make it anymore
 
I've used the 225gr. Hornady Interlocks for years with good success. Now I've switched to the Nolser 225gr. Accubond and it handles moose just fine from my experience. I really like it's high BC of .550, flat shooting and hard hitting.

Only if you are elephant hunting in Quebec! (I assume there is not an IQ test required in order to become a chief of police in that province)
 
Homesteader, Hornady and Noslers bonded bullets are about the same in performance. Use whatever shoots best in your rifle!

I use 250 Noslers in mine. At 2750+ they shoot flat enough for anything I feel I should be shooting at. Always work great, never any suprises. No doubt the new high tech bullets will work too, but I started useing these years ago and they've worked so well I see no need to switch.
