A dream season....PICTURE heavy

Boar hunting with dogs and spear!

Man that's medieval!

So, do you aim for the African Big Five before you're 45?

I must have taken a wrong turn somewhere, because I couldn't spend that much time in the field and still claim to be working:cool:

I don't want to do the big 5. I will do a cape buffalo next time I go to Africa though.

Most guys say oh I could never do that kind of year, but I make hunting on the top of the list of things to do because I love it. I make sacrifices to do these trips and instead of a new car every few years like some guys do I keep the old truck instead. Our lives are what we make them. Living in BC we have 23 or so big game animals we can hunt. I make it a priority to have a job that I can work through my cell phone Internet.

The bottom line is that I'm so addicted to hunting that I just have to.

Jealousy has risen its ugly head here but in a good way. That is one of the best story/pic articles I have read on any of the hunting sites I frequent. A job well done Sir.

This story and the great pictures in this thread are the stuff of hunting dreams. I am honoured to have experienced the retelling of your hunting season, it is an inspiration for hunters experienced to those just beginning to hunt, and a testament to dedication to one's passions. The pictures and the detailed descriptions are pure magic.

Thank you. :)

It'll be worth every penny. If you can manage it though, hunting hippo on dry ground is probably the ultimate dangerous game hunt.

I had to do a double take on your pics, you look so much like my cousin it is uncanny. Mind you he likes his skate board too much to start hunting.

That is an incredible season you had there. You better pace yourself, eating all that red meat and so little fish is bad for your heart.

Thanks for the pics.

Just re read your season again Dave! Awesome!! Get er done, hope this season is as good as last! We did wait a while for the stories though, make us regulars on HBC a little antsy!!LOL! Again be safe out there, watch out for those slippery FSR's!! Moosin

If I had to harvest 1 animal for meat only each year it would be a 6 year old cow bison. Lots of meat, tender steaks, very healthy to eat.

Everything eles when prepared well, and cared for in the field, has been a close second. Even the bobcat and coyote!

Although of all the animals I have hunted, the only ones I didnt like were mule deer bucks, consistantly gamey, even as jerky or sausage. Yuck. However have enjoyed mulie does.

Worse than the coyote??? :D

Nice pics!
