a dumb question..

I bought a scope some time ago.
It sits on my rifle and took it shooting for the first time today.
The gun was shhoting way too much to the left so I turned the scope dial to the right.
got her to at least hit the paper but it still wasn't on target 6" left, problem is I can not turn the dial anymore to the right it looks to me to be the most you can take it to the right. So what do I do now?
This is a brand new scope 3200 bushnell,
Anyone had this problem before?

whomeever mounted your scope used the wrong rings or something.... your scope is not mounted right....

I had a 3200 do the same thing, send it back for repair.

It sounds like your receiver may be drilled off center or your base isn't sitting right.

what kind of rings do you have and are they lapped this could be a problem because it doest take much deviation to change your poi the other thing you can do would be to shim your scope I just use some tin foil till i can learn another and proper way to do it and It has worked fine for me

Most probably the scope is misaligned. As daniellybert suggested , shims are the best way to go. Especially if your receiver was drilled and tapped out of spec.

I think you guys may be righ about the scope being misaligned.
I do not know what this type of ring is called but it has a hole in the front base and the ring twists into the hole.
What are these called? and how do I make sure that the rings are alighned correctly?

try this too

yank the scope, make sure adjustments are in neutral (just as many clicks to absolute right as it is to left, same for up/down), and then remount and try.

sounds like you have leupold bases at least you should have a set of screws on the rear base that allows you to adjuct the windage roughly and then fine tune with the adjustments on the scope?

I'll try to remount and see what happens next weekend.
