I setup a little after legal light, had the first set of birds (about 20) come in around 7:40 and downed 3… I didn’t really have much time to hunt this morning so didn't bother with the layout, went with the goose chair instead....
Lots of birds flying this morning.

At least you got out there.
I went to the Maynard's auction on a spectacular sunny Saturday in Vancouver.
Buddy and I dropped a grand between us.
That was peanuts compared to the guys buying a 19th century Rhino horn for $190,000.00 plus pat, get and buyers fee...
Your day was fruitful , mine was an educational day.
Hope there is more chances for you and the geese to meet again.

They were called the goose chair if memory serves? There were a couple different manufacturers and were available in different sizes depending on the manufacturer. Blowing on a short reed call under it was like sticking your head in a 45 gallon drum and letting rip. It sure left your ear drums ringing. I believe mine had a 36" Super Mag decoy attached to it? It worked well at the time......however I can't say I miss it. But then I am not overly enthused about hunting from a layout blind any longer either. We had lots of birds here right up until this week but laying on the frozen ground for a few hours at a stretch once your hair has more grey then brown is not as much fun as when you were younger. I am at the point I want to hunt from an upright blind again to get off the cold ground. It my not be as effective on late season birds but it's alot easier on a fellows back.
