A few questions about the Mission & District Rod & Gun Club

So this is my first year getting into the shooting sports, and after shooting trap at the Poco club I've fallen in love with the sport. However, one session every two weeks isn't giving me my fill, and with my work schedule I often can't even make those meetings. I've heard the Mission club has the most active sporting clay setup, but I've never been there before. Can someone answer a few questions I have about the club?

1) The website says it's members only - is there any way I can go down there one time to shoot trap and see how I like it before I buy a membership?

2) The website lists the following schedule for shotgun:

Wednesday – Saturday: 10:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Sunday 2:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Twoonie matches every Wednesday night.
Fourth Sunday Of Every Month (Practice & $2 Games)
11 A.M. – Until We’re Broke

Does Wednesday - Saturday mean from Wednesday to Saturday, or Wednesday and Saturday?

Is this schedule year round? Is there a different schedule during the winter months? If so, what is it?

3) Is the place newbie friendly? I've only been out about 4 times, and I feel like I can keep up without holding up the game, but for me half the fun is bringing my friends who've never shot before and introducing them to the sport. Is the Mission club a good place for them?

I would have replied sooner to this, but I thought you were wanting info specifially on the Mission Club.

The Vancouver Gun Club is on Sidaway Road in Richmond. Just south of the Richmond Go-kart track, if you know where that is. They are open Saturdays and Sundays for practise trap, all year. During daylight savings time they are open on Wed afternoon/evenings. The cost for trap is $5 per 25 targets. Sundays they are also open for sporting clays, cost $10 for a round of 50 targets. Skeet range is open, and usually not very busy on weekends as well. $5 per 25 targets.

You can buy 12GA target ammo at the club. Most Sundays the kitchen is open for breakfast. A membership is $100 per year. As a member you do not have to pay the $10 daily range fee non-members pay. As a member you also can buy a shoot card that gives you 11 rounds for the price of 10.

There are lots of begginer shooters, and the more experienced shooters are always happy to answer questions, give tips, and help. If you want to bring a friend that has never shot before, mention it at the cashier, and they will have a member come to the line with him/her, to get them started in the right direction, and ensure gun handling safety. I help out as much as possible with newbies, as I love to see them break a few targets, to keep them encouraged.:)
