A few words from Alex Robinson.

But... if RA could come up with a variant that can send texts and rub my nuts to the theme song of Tour Of Duty , then my AR will be on the EE fast.LOL!

Kind of surprised so many people take his post negatively...
I respect his balls and the pride in his company. His goal is to make the best rifle possible... that's the guy I want to buy from!!!

$2500 for a rifle doesnt work for me at this point, but when it does, I will look up RA first, because of this letter. I'd much rather have him at the helm than a president who's goal is maximum revenue over all else.

He might have "balls" but better play nice if he want people to buy his rifle. If...IF...this is supposed to be the best rifle possible the product should speak for itself. It would not need a caustic defender.

Besides lets see if we end up with a liberal government and I bet my ass that the XCR and AR will have a lot more in common.

I hear ya. I actually hunted legaly with my AR-15 H-Bar for two years. Eight coyotes on the ice, a 30 rnd mag...good times. I'm getting out with my XCR as much as possible because things can change pretty fast.

Not as amusing as the SL8 going for $7000.

Yah... I have an '07 norc in a USGI stock that I'd be willing to let go for $1200. :p

As for the XCR, it is a neat rifle wit a lot of potential for refinement, but not $2500 and bad customer service neat...

If Alex Robinson had instructed his staff to get the replacement parts out ASAP no matter how rude or angry the customer was, then I'd consider buying his rifle.

And to be honest, I would prefer an AR over an XCR if they were both the same classification (mind you, I bought a Swiss Arms, so that trumps them all... muahaha :p).

As for innovation, yes... the XCR is a new design, but many companies (cough, Kel-Tec, cough) are coming out with much more interesting and innovative designs...

Ahhh yes, the good old days, the days when my mini14 out shot my buds inaccurate Ar, but what the hey. We'd better not get another lieb govt. in the next 4-8 years, or we'll be not only losing the nonrestricteds, we'll be seeing a whole lot of Eastern guns getting smelted...Here in Alberta, on the other hand:D:D:D;)( Just Joking kids)

As far as all the hate for the Robarms XCR, well I just don't get it. I've owned s**tty Chev's, Dodges, never owned a s**tty Ford, but anyway, I love the fact that Alex Robinsons inability to be a smooth talker and the fact that there are some problems, yes , some QC issues from a small firearms Company causes so much grief, it's almost as funny as reading the lefties slag Sarah Palin on another post here. If you don't want a Robarms XCR, don't buy one, If you like SKS' good on you, I own a few AR"s, I like them too, but, even with its flaws I actually like the XCR a little better. Is it as accurate as my R-15, or my R25? nope, but I'm working on it. Then again I'm sure a lot of you would slag those two platforms as well. So I guess the moral of the story is, kinda like the old 30-06 fable, If your out and about and break a part on your XCR, or lose an Allen bolt, well you're just a trip to the UFA away for most of the parts, as opposed to a trip back to town.

I also like the fact that with a 1/4" allen key I can change calibers, in around 1 1/2 minutes. I tell you what, now that I think about it I also have a couple of those Taurus pieces of s**t too and I'm sure that you wouldn't be interested in the fact that they've never given me a bit of trouble, unlike my HK's feeding problems( you'll be happy to know the're easing up too though...Glad I didn't throw it out) And as far as getting stuff from Robarms, I know it was just an owners manual, but I called and it was mailed that day.

the guy might be an ok designer / copier (though Xerox may trump him on occasion), but as a Manager / CEO / President, he's horrid.

the simple question to ask is this - which way is the money flowing? yeah, that should dictate who gets more leeway in being a prick, and who should bite his/her tongue. that works externally (customers) as well as internally (employees). the people are HIS customers, while he is his employees' customer. his employees' job is to satisfy his needs as a business owner / CEO, and his job is to satisfy the needs of the customers.

he appears to have a God-complex. and i'm an atheist.

You obviously don't know anything about his religion then one of their beliefs is one day in another life he will be a God... :p

and I can't believe the judgemental emotional spewing that is still going on about this like I said in another thread it is now laughable...

;)

alex robinson:

as a man, i respect his statements, his passion for his employees and his product

however

as a CEO and de facto 'face' of a company, i think it just makes him sound pretty unprofessional and foolish...especially in the face of any potential business partners or investors

Giving it a bit more thought, while I like him as a CEO, he really shouldn't be talking on the internet. They need a PR person to be doing this job.
And (as someone pointed out) a spell checker.

after I lost a part, I emailed Rob Arms the response i got was send us your mailing address we'll send you a new one... Loosing the part was not any fault of the rifle, just between cleanings and inspection so the screw had loosened and I never noticed. So say what you want about Rob Arms, but i have had nothing but Great service from them!

I'm not apologizing for him but he sounds like someone that may be lacking certain social skills. A smart man by any means, but lacking some necessary skills or the insight to his demeanor and how he is perceived. All that aside, the rifle isn't too bad though.
:agree:

And I, personally, am looking forward to the XCR-M!

Maybe he should lift the XCR price up!

That way, from his point of view, he wouldn't have to deal with such rude and illiterate people as a customer base...

I mean, I can't belive he even bashed the people who bought his rifle.

the XCR is not $2500 I paid $2300 cdn + TAX and shipping its funny how people like to jack the real price up a littel more each time they post . If you can't afford the rifle buy a SKS, I work in customer service and you always get that 10% of complainers that you could not satisfy if you tried all we do is we take them aside and talk to them like babies they seem to like this and leave felling like they have gotten the service they wanted in the first place ROB ARM has sold so manny XCR's and will sell much more this year and the years to come. ROB ARMS know what the customers like and want that is why they are doing so well and will be doing much better . I LOVE MY XCR L and can't wait for the XCR M to come out.

Ah. The elusive, mythical XCR 7.62x51. The image of the first beast.

"... behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet will be."

Revelation 17:8,

Sorry. But this fight has become epic enough that I felt more symbolic language should be attached to responses. For matching theatrical value. ;)

Pretty staight shooter that guy. I kind of like that he doesnt beat around the bush, its refreshing this day and age.
