A fine WTF? moment, or why I hate mail order some days...

WhooHoo! I'm getting a refund for the difference in price. :D Apparently all I had to do was ask for that specifically. Either that or they saw this thread, but I'm now satisfied no matter how it happened.

Lessons learned:
1. Trust, but verify. Get a quote for the specific product & quantity, as well as shipping charges. Use email, as that way there is a "paper" trail in case things go all pear shaped.

2. Get an invoice sent via email upon shipment. This way you'll know if something is amiss before it arrives, and the shipment can be refused. I was unaware of the change to the order until I had signed for it and opened the box to find the invoice.

3. If things go bad, be direct. This is where I screwed up...by hoping that by mentioning the problem the company would go and fix it on their own. I should have stated exactly what I wanted in the first email and saved a bunch of time.

4. Use a credit card. As far as I know most companies don't like getting chargebacks, and will hopefully try to avoid such things.

5. Post on CGN. :) I don't know if this thread helped my situation directly, but if nothing else I've received some great advice from you folks. Many thanks again. :D
