This might be of interest to some "sniper" rifle collector types. Go to this site > Nitroexpress > Mauser Discussion > Mauser Caliber ?. Decided to put the info. here also as it's quite unusual but makes good sense. --- John303.

Here is the link I think you were trying to put in: http://forums.nitroexpress.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=207835&an=0&page=0#Post207835

Looks like a nice Mauser, professionally sportered. Now you just need the proper scope and mounts! ;)

Thanks Fox, I going to keep an eye out for the appropriate scope and mts, it seems that the German Army kept all the scopes for their military sniper rifles when these "military" sporters where put in storage. Thanks to kuduae I have an article on these rifles - if I read things correctly this is only the 3rd to surface. --- John303.

According to my info. the action is a 1912 Oberndorf commercial, going by the bottom metal and the proper ser. #s in the right places - underside action flat and back of cartridge box. Not all Oberndorfs were marked on the side but even the commercial receivers were in military configuartion. Except for some PM info. most of the info. is on the NE site - I don't want to repeat myself. I personally have no problem, should someone wishes to do so, bring the whole exchange over here. --- John303.
