A flaw of the 1911 could be fatal 4 you.

I hear it's amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on Hara-Kiri Rock. I need scissors! Sixty-one!

Oh, crap. I forgot the obligatory welcome to the new guy.™

It has been met with severe criticism in some quarters, but that does not change the facts of the matter.
QUOTE]

you show me where the FACT is that the 1911 was designed for the newbie shooter who cannot shoot a gun with there trigger finger, and I will admit there is a "flaw". However.. if the 1911 is designed to be shot by the military with the trigger finger, then it's not a flaw it's being used AS DESIGNED.. you are trying to use the gun for a purpose (style) the it was not designed for.. the fault is in the use (user) not the gun.

that's like saying the 747 has a flaw that it cannot land on a the deck of an aircraft carrier.. Duh.. it was never designed to do it.

hey

Quote from article: The Model of 1911 has a design flaw that excludes the use of a shooting method that is natural, fast, automatic and accurate. And that in turn, may prove fatal 4 a user

I thought if you're trying to write a genuine article you use real words.

Example: May prove fatal for a user

Just so you know next time, only use 4 as a number reference, even then, don't be afraid to use the word four.:slap:

oh my gosh I finally get to use this :D

IBTL!!!!

As some one said on the 10-8 thread lets go shoot a competition you use your style and ill shoot mine...loser pays the other 1000$. Put your money where your mouth is~!

Very weird thread. I've been shooting a 1911 since 1982 and never heard of this before. If you think about it, there are likely a few other guns which when used improperly, could cause a stoppage, no??????????

I actually use the finger pointing technique. Usually when taking a leak. And then mostly only when I'm writing my name in the snow.

We've been getting some interesting posts here lately... wtf gives?

Do you ever get any jams using the technique this way? :D

Bah.

Up close and personal shooting does not require the trigger finger to be anywhere other than firmly on the trigger. Furthermore, the only time one should ever be using the middle finger on the trigger technique in the middle of a death or grevious bodily harm situation is when the proper finger on the dominant hand has been cleaved from your body and the support hand is out of action.

Go away and learn to shoot newbie. And don't make me lock up your Rainbow Six game.

So let me understand a design almost 100 years in production through 2 world wars and who knows how many copies.... literally 10's of millions of them made has a flaw that is fatal?

Now if he could write worth a damn and describe the flaw with details of these fatalities I would tend to be willing to read it...... but it sounds like he doesn't have a clue which end is which...

But it what I did read he is talking about apples and oranges that are from long before the existence of self loaders.. 1835 give me a break...

Seems like he needs to pick up a 1911 and go shoot it...
