Is a G22 commonly used in Standard div?
Or is it more common to see a 1911 action, perhaps chambered in .40?

And how is the accuracy and trigger quality on the G22? I know it'll be accurate enough for ipsc shooting, but in general, is this an above average or just average accuracy pistol?

...it's not a bad idea if you want to shoot in Prod and Standard...

You don't see alot of them in Standard but a few die hards...

The triggers are OK once you get used to them...you sure learn how to prep and squeeze when you should a Glock...

Can't comment on the accuracy, but I haven't seen (m)any shooters that can outshoot their pistols...

Cheers

It's a good gun for both production & standard, but
if you want to shoot standard,& be competitive, than you should modify w/ extended this & that, magwell, 3.5 trigger connector, etc.. it'll help you be more competitive, with also lots of practise.
if you change all these things, than you can't shoot production any more.
I wouldn't shoot in standard with the gun as is.
as for accuracy, i think it's o.k., but modifications to the trigger & trigger spring will help & maybe the sights.
changing the guide rod & spring to lower the recoil would be a help as well

There are many variables, you should chat with some others at your club & see what they're shoot'n, ask them to try it. most will be happy to let you shoot a few rounds of their gun.

most are shooting a 1911 type gun. STI, Colt, Spingfield, Para, Infiniti, in no specific order
you Can buy a sweet gun done up ready to go for $ 2,2200.00-$ 2,500.00ish
or buy one for approx. $800-$1,000 & modify from there, or built one from scracth, the way you want.
It's simple to just buy one complete, race ready or just ready to shoot & modify to your preference later.
There's always someone selling a 1911 already modified for standard division, caused they've upgraded. you can pick up something pretty good this way too. some are even selling older belts, hoslters, mag pouches too.
Ask around your club or check postings

...this is from the list from last years nationals....

Open: STI or SVI, usually custom tuned by a gunsmith
Standard: STI or SVI followed by Para
Production: Glock's were the most used, followed by CZ and Beretta. A few use HK.

A G22 would be sort of ok for Standard, but a G35 would be better, which is built for Standard Division. I'd be inclined to shoot a G22 in Production with powder-puff loads.

who can I get powder puff reloaded 40 from? I don't reload myself, and no space at my place to start reloading anyways.

I guess I'd want REALLY downloaded 40 since I can only score minor in prod anyways.

Anyone sell ammo like this?
