A Sig SSG 3000 Patrol rifle and a S&B 12X50X56 PMll P4F, a set of Badger Ordonance one inch high steel 34mm rings, and a knock off bipod ( a Harris original swivel will follow)... With the 24 inch barrel of the Sig and is 1 in 11 ROT, i am going back to my 208 Amax (BC .648 ) and R-17, i should be able to push them at 2700 fps and shoot accurately to one K... The 50X of the scope will be very usefull for that purpose... A big thanks to Tomochan who suggeted to me to get that scope, it is extremelly clear and the reticle is fine enough for very long range work... JP.

Out of my Nemesis (20 inch barrel) i am pushing this 208 Amax just south of 2600 fps with great accuracy, out of a 24 inch barrel 2700 fps is obtainable, 50 gr of R-17 with no pressure signs, oal 3.00, single loaded... JP.

This load is potentially extremely dangerous in the real world. You might not want to put it on a public forum where someone who doesn't know better may try it.

looks good JP, a fore warning though, that scope at 50x at 1k is a real test of how steady your shooting position is and how steady your hand can be.. i found when i had mine that if i hiked to my shooting position, i was seeing my heart beat move the retical on target haha, they are great scopes though!

It i a proven load in my rifle (125 times), now, i will start lower with the Sig, working my way to the max, plus this is documented how R-17 and 208 Amax can be pushed to those speed, R-17 is a one of a kind powder for extra velocity with heavy bullets in the 308... JP.

RL-17 is designed for a smoother, longer pressure curve and this is atypical for the standard powders when shooting that weight class........ The RL17 powder really makes one rethink what has always been said regarding the .308 cartridge........ Those are quotes from Sniper hide... JP.

Re17 is like magic in all cartridges with a reasonably high expansion ratio and using heavy-for-caliber bullets.

I have loaded the Speer 200 gr to 2700 in a Stevens 200 308 Win with fine accuracy, tight primer pockets, and no measureable case head expansion after five reloads in its factory 22" barrel.

I ran a 20in barrel with 5grs less of r17 with an Amax and I never got more than slight cratering on the primer and I was pushing 2500 fps. Very accurate load in my old setup.

What u mean you got 20moa reticle?, I know that rifle come with 0 moa rail, and with that setnup, I got about less than haft of the elevation left. On a scope that got about 50moa elevation adjestment.

I will be fine with it, if needed i will add a 20 MOA rail over the 0 MOA rail, i will cross the river when i get to the bridge... JP.

In the booklet it say 75 MOA elevation adjustement and in the reticle P4F front center to lower hashline is 45 inchs at 100 metres, so i guess you have to add both and it should give us the elevation value... JP.

I never pushed my 208 AMAX's past 2475 fps out of a 24 inch barrel and still had outstanding accuracy. I was new to reloading at that time and didn't wanna blow up and die lol. Knowing what I know now I could have got to 2650 easily with the thicker IVI brass.
