My reply goes something like this...."Nice leather jacket....did the cow stand there quietly while you hacked it off its ass"???.........
KTK a famous or rather infamous news reporter quote in Belfast during the early 70's and an interview with an army sniper:Ken The Kanuck said:Q. - " Well how can you shoot that poor animal ? "
A. - " You lift the gun to your shoulder, point it and pull the trigger ."
Next question.

They do all of the above while they hypocritically wear leather shoes, jackets and god forbid pants, have piercings that are filled with metal rings that require various factory mining operations to extracate what is now in their face, live in wood houses, distribute paper leaflets with their various causes plastered in toxic ink (someone should really tell them paper is made out of wood) and drink gallons of starbucks coffee and soy products that require the destruction and conversion of tropical rain forest to plant.
You know the people who want highway like roads and walking trails with markers every fifteen feet cut in swaths through the parks and remote areas of Canada so they can access them with their carpet rat punt me dogs and styrofoam starbucks garbage and have the chance to enjoy nature without actually venturing very far from their honda shetruck because there are creepy things like "spiders and stuff".
These are the folks that know all about the wild, what is sustainable and what hunters should and shouldn't do because they read their latest activist rag miles inside the pavement prisons in which they live and have no idea where what they shove in their faces comes from.
Is that enough ammo for you? If it were me I wouldn't waste my breath. Just go for the short answer: nice leather shoes how do you think the animal that gave it's skin for them died? At least I am willing to do the animal the honor of doing my own dirty work.
That was so very well said, not to forget the ones that say (you are cruel to animals) yet at home they got a bird in a cage jailed up until it dies instead of the bird being free to fly around enjoying its life.wetcoaster said:I know these types I see and hear them every day, granola crunching, pro animal rights, vegans that are also adamant forest activists and in general what I like to refer to as a "CAVE" people (citizens against virtually everything). All sarcasm aside, I think answers like this are probably the best. No point adding to the "nasty, cruel, Neanderthal-IQ hunter" stereotype. One might add, "have you ever been to an abbatoir?" It is also worth pointing out that before the modern, sanitized "factory" age, people washed and laid out their dead for burial. Today, all that unpleasant stuff is done by the funeral home.viper7 said:"Are you suggesting that your buying your meat in a big box store wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam is more natural than me going into the wilderness and stalking, killing, cleaning and eating my own meat?"...

ROTFLMBO! I am actually gonna use that one!Bowie said:I normally then ask "do you eat meat?"
They usually answer "yes"
I counter with "So you believe you are morally superior because you pay someone to kill your meat for you?"
