I got out for the first time today. Beautiful night to shoot at the Winnipeg Trap and Skeet Club
! shot trap with my 3200 tonight. After shimming the recoil pad to change the pitch I wanted to see how it did with light loads. Shot a 22, 22, 25 and a 25. I think the 1100 might have to sit in the safe for a while
I shot a quick round of skeet with my new to me 11-48 in 410. The birds had been hooped for a previous strong wind and I had a rookie puller who was gracious enough to push buttons for me, so my score was nothing to write home about. However, every bird I missed I would have missed with my 12 ga also. Breaks with the 410 and a mod choke and factory shells were still impressive I thought. Looks like its time to buy a case of 410 shells and start making empties for reloading
.
I can see now that I'll need to replace the hard plastic recoil cap on the 11-48 with a recoil pad to increase LOP and to not slip on my shoulder. I'll also need one of those pitch changing spacers that Brownells sells. Any suggestions on a gunsmith in the Winnipeg area who could do a recoil pad?
