a good movie about traditions and actual world for hunting mose in norway.

Cousin hunts w dogs in Sweden. Not his video. The dogs chase the moose till it stops the dog starts barking probably to get it moving. This moose had enough running lol https://youtu.be/sKdTVlLFnNc

most of the time the moose are not running like wild boar or red deer but are keeping at bay and do not escape unless pushed by beaters. i do remember in sweden and finland they used dogs to keep them from running and choose to shoot or not depending of the tags in hands.

I have watched similar moose hunting videos from Scandinavia in the past.
Made me miss my Norwegian Elkhound from when I was a kid. She kept me safe from bears when out fishing mountain streams alone as a kid. She charged and rolled a black bear that got too close once when I was about 9 (used to hike about a mile through the forest to the neighbour's farm, 3 times a week to bring home a couple gallons of milk in my back pack).
Best dog we ever had!

Gonna give this a watch with my Norwegian elkhound tonight.

cherish him or her and some goodies from me if i may.

those dogs are so special .. while i hunted in sweden the guys at the hunting club did not use the jamhund that is the swedish elghound and preffered the norwegian version. i ve seen only a few black elghound most are really so old in their dnas they re more like cats than really dog but great for any hunters or outdoor lovers. and still have their own will sometimes.

Same goes for Karelian bear dogs

Minds of their own but loyal to a fault

yes they are the same kind. i think they still call them primitive dogs.

we have a few friends that used them for wild boar hunting in france and as well for blood tracking.

the only problem is like any cold weather dog: the shedding ...

Not a problem with our Saint and Burnese. They like it outside
