In an effort to save more money in this poor economy we live in today, I decided to sell my Beretta 686 and to purchase a cheaper shotgun to put aside some extra money. This became even more important when I got engaged one month ago.

Introducing, my new Fausti Conrad. I was going to buy a CZ-USA Redhead instead. I had one before and it was an excellent shotgun for the money. But for just a bit more, you can have this. The Fausti's are about to up in price due to the Canadian dollar drop. They're expected to hit the $1700 mark. I got mine for $1389.99. The CZ Woodcock is $999.99. For $400 more, you get a much nicer gun. Okay, its not as well refined as my Beretta was. They're a lot of sharp edges on this one but that will all wear in with time. The gun is tight and has a very positive lock up.

The only reason why I picked this gun over the CZ-USA is because of the fit. All of CZ-USA shotguns fit me very well. From the Mallard to the Redhead. My Redhead was a joy to shoot. But when I shouldered this Fausti, eyes closed, I open my eyes and every single time, my eye is lined up with the bead. The only issue is I'm slightly looking down onto the rib but not by much.

I really can't wait to try it out. Today was the day the sporting clays range was open at VGC but I will have to wait until next week to try it. For now, I will just look at it, read the owners manual, and practice shouldering it.

Everything the gun comes with. This picture was taken fresh out of the box. I didn't even polish the receiver yet. The other pictures is after I gave it a wipe down and polished the receiver.

By the way, these three are the owners of Fausti.
