A good quality cleaning kit?

I personally dont like pre-packaged kits. I'd go with a good Dewey cleaning rod, a few dewey jags to match your rifles and some cleaner.

I personally like using Wipeout foaming cleaner on my rifles.

Dewey rod, proper sized jags and patches, proper bore guide , quality powder solvent, like Shooters Choice or Butchs Bore Shine, quality copper solvent like KG-12, rust preventative like G-96.

If you want a packable kit, consider Otis.
Avoid jointed aluminum rods - strength issue. Be careful with jointed steel rods; check that the joints are smooth.
Otherwise, use a one piece rod.

If you have a lot of different calibres, you can buy a kit that includes numerous brushes, jags, etc and combine that with carbon fibre rods you buy to cover the various needs. Or just buy them separately. I like nylon brushes, bronze brushes and pointed jags. At this point in time I only have three rods. A 17 cal plus adapter to do 17 and 22LR, a 223 I bought previously and a 30 cal. That covers a large range of needs.

I use a one piece Tipton rod, but for a nice complete kit with all the brushes and bits I like the Gun Boss Pro, by Real Avid. It has everything you need to clean all calibres of rifles and pistols.

Get yourself a good one-piece, coated rod and brass jags to fit your bore. Also pick up a good bore guide. I like Wipeout, it works well for me. Spray it in, let it foam up and sit for a while and push some patches through the barrel. Repeat if necessary. I also like to use a bore mop for making sure the chamber is cleaned up and free of residue.

+1 on the one piece rods! Dont even bother with the multi sectional rods, they will just create frustration and bore damage. Dewey rods are great as everyone has said already, but personally I have been using the Tipton carbon fiber rods with Tipton Ultra Jags and brushes. I honestly cant complain. It has been working well for me for years and the whole setup is fairly cost effective.

Tipton or Dewey.
Buy one brand or the other as there is always the variations in male and female jags and brushes.
For the shooter with rifles from 17 to 30 cal plus you are looking at three rods.
Bore guides are sometimes rifle specific but Tipton has a good rod guide system.
Tipton also has a kit of brushes and jags and other that keeping everything in the same kit there are most that I will never use.
WipeOut is a great product and will either eliminate bronze brushes or remove the need for them.
Nylon has it's plus in that they can be reversed in the bore whereas bronze bristles will break off.

The one piece rods are a great invention over the sectional rods. I can't count how many sectional rods Ive broken over the years. Unless your very gentle, eventually youll break one. The only ones that I haven't broken are the heavier diameter shotgun rods.

At home I use one piece cleaning rods with a wide assortment of caliber specific accessories. In the field I use multi-piece rods with similar attachments, and on my person I carry a small metal can with pull-thru, patches, a rag, and a small bottle of oil.
