Military rifles when shot out are becoming more difficult to find original barrels. That's always been a problem with milsurp. Once the original barrel is worn out, it's not even a shooter now. The temptation to "bubba" or rebarrel becomes even greater. Then you need to alter the bolt, safety, restock, etc. Not cost effective.
On the other hand, once a milsurp rifle is rebarreled, even to original specs, is no longer original and value has plummeted. Take warning for those willing to sacrifice K98's and such.
