A good Red Dot Optic For 22LR???

Ncstar is great for airsoft and those that want to hit someone else's target

Are they really that bad?

I understand that they aren't for serious hunting or target competition use, and definitely not for police/military/self-defense use.

But if someone wanted a cheap red dot scope for recreational 22LR plinking, would they really be too terrible for that? Not everyone is a serious hunter/competition-shooter/ninja.

I got my used 597 VTR with a Browning BuckMark Reflex sight on it... 4 changeable reticles, 7 illumination settings, seems like a tough little sight meant originally for the BuckMark pistol. Very accurate so far, was able to rack off a full 30-round mag on steel plates alternating from 25-100 meters without a miss. Not sure where the original owner got it, but this one is identical (and is likely the original manufacturer)

Cheap too!

Just wanted to post an update as I finally got to the range with that tasco red dot from CT. I mounted it on a stock 10/22, it sighted in very quickly and kept it's zero even after a trip (maybe 15 minutes of semi rough trail) inside a soft case strapped to the rack of an atv. I can't speak on it's longevity over time, but if it stays as is, I may buy another as well. So far it's been a very good value for the price.
