A good season winds down

This year has not been to bad. For me I managed to fill three doe tags and missed my big buck a couple of weeks ago. My hunting partner filled a couple of doe tags and scored on a nice buck today.

A pretty good season. Not perfect but not too bad either. Good luck to everyone as things wind down.

That's funny, I have yet to see a buck I can shoot!!!

The rut is still on. This fellow was with another chasing a doe. One buck ran off but this guy stayed around. Mistake. What made it really sweet was that my partner took hin at 150 yrds with a shot from an old enfield with the original peep sight. His scoped .308 was off so he brought out old faithful.

Yeah, I also find that the last two weeks are usually the best. Everybody tries to tag out early , but it is nice to get to hunt almost the full season. Should be a good weekend!

Nothing more reliable that an iron with iron sights!!
