Still plenty of game out there, winter time is the most fun for hunting I think. Following fresh tracks and stalking the little guys is very challenging and rewarding. It's hard to see but there are a pair of spruce hens, a pair of ruffle grouse (partridge) a fine snowshoe hare. It really was a great time hunting. That's a H&R single shot .22lr with a 3x9x30 on it. Great little (and inexpensive) set up, easy to carry in the bush and very reliable. Also pictured is my friend's cooey 410 that desperately needs a fore grip.

Nice days bag. Some tasty snacks there.

Footnote, your buddy best hope he doesn't get stopped while hunting with that gun as a C.O may deem it as defective and seize it. When I worked at the MNR there was many in the lock up with forearms taped to keep them together that were deemed defective so were seized. They consider them in disrepair and unsafe.

Nice day's hunt.... Wrapping up black powder season for whotetail and I have next week off.... gonna put the new Baikal .22/410 to the test on ruffies and bunnies and do a bot of snaring..... it's goos for your mental health to get out and walk the woods....
