A Grizzly Encounter

I love the picture of your tent with the electric bear fence. I talked to a pilot one time that used one for protection against bears. He said he woke up one night to commotion and something large running away. In the morning when he went out he saw some caribou and was never sure if it was a bear or a caribou. Our pilot used one when he demonstrated our aircraft to the Nunavut government. They never did buy any aircraft from us. Do you think it works?

We never use it at night but always turn it on when away from camp to keep bears out of our stuff. I've seen some really interesting studies on these mesh fences out of Yellowstone and yes, they do work.

Hmmm. 9 yards.... 9 foot bear.... PUCKER FACTOR!!!

Congrats to Vanessa. Sounds about as memorable as you want a grizzly hunt to be!

Shot placement? I am guessing tight under the chin.

It was a touch quatering and she hit in front of the leg and it exited through the opposite flank. I suspect she got heart, lungs and liver all at once. The blood spray was unreal.

Impressive story, grizz hunting is on my bucket list but I'm not sure I'd like it up close and personal like this one!!
