A Grizzly Encounter

Congrats! At 9 yards that is living dangerous for sure!
I've heard a grizz could kill you before it even realized it was dead after the heart had been shot out.

I don't think the so-called pros on TV could top that.:D

How much weight did you carry in your MR and for how far Sheephunter?
I used a MR Nice Frame with a 6500 bag the last day and a half and am much less than impressed with how my body felt after.

I've had loads to 140 pounds in it for 5kms and I packed around 80 pounds in it for over 100 kilometres over the course of 10 days last year.

Personally, I didn't like the Nice Frame either. Lots do for sure but after a long discussion with a few of the folks at MR, they suggested the Kodiak to me, it's an internal frame design and I've been very happy. One of the real keys with the MR packs is getting them to fit and that means adjusting the yoke too. I just found the 6500 a bit too rigid and it is designed for packing dense heavy loads. The Kodiak was designed for extended trips with moderate loads, typically what I do and for the occasional big load, it serves the need well.
