I shoot outside during the winter, and I reload, so I naturally own a revolver. I got a S&W 27 a bit ago and I was using an Uncle Mike's basic holster; it is like hauling a high end camper with a Yugo.

My wife got me a holster belt to wear as a normal belt, as well as a new pouch for my SOG EOD tool, and a pouch for carrying my weding ring and iron ring at the range from Joe Laroche of Laroche Leathers. While we were picking them up, I was looking at his holsters and thought it would be nice to get one for my Smith, but since I shoot it mostly during the winter, I needed a drop leg rig to clear my coat.

I sent Joe an email less than two weeks ago asking if he could make a holster that would convert from a hip holster to a drop leg holster. Joe's repsonse was I was making his life challenging and he liked it. Less than a week later this is waht he came up with:

First is the holster in its summer use (ignore my arm):

Next is the back view and the gear to change it:

Next is the holster all put together in its winter mode:

I am very happy with the final product, problem now is the range is closed for the enxt two months :(

Interesting holster.

I had to giggle at your mention of a pouch for your rings... When I got married, I found that my qualification scores dropped 20 points out of a possible 250, until I put some serious practice into things!

... Something about not scoring as often, once you slip on that ring...?

;)
