Looking for a small .22 for my grand-daughters to shoot while under full supervision. Who makes them and what are the models and which are the better ones. I would like one that will accept a scope. I think I saw a Savage somewhere, but there must be more brands out there. Thx for any info on them.

TC makes a great youth 22 it comes with a spacer to put in the stock as they grow. The only issue I have with it is they don't eject very well. the savage performs good. I have 2 girls one has the savage other has the TC
yes, I have the T/C hot shot at this time, but I just can't find a scope mount for it anywhere! I know they did make such a thing, but! They are available in the USA, but as far as I understand, they are non shippable to Canada.
I would be willing to sell this T/C or trade it for a scopeable rifle.
When my boys were young, they had a Chipmunk, but for the grand-daughters, the bolt cocking puller would be not good.
This is what my kids have too. My daughter wants a pink or purple one now. Since I can only shoot with one kid at a time, they should be able to share. I am however tempted by her enthusiasm to go out and get one for her.

I lucked out and found a rail for my Hotshot on EE. I like the T/C but in all honesty, I think you would be best off going for a Rascal. Cocking is not a problem, you don't have to pull it back like on a chipmunk. Very easy for small hands to manage the rascal.
If your budget allows, CZ scout can't be beat.

When I saw this little Savage Rascal with a yellow plastic stock hanging in the Gun Dealers Rack I just had to have it for my Grandsons to introduce them to Guns soon they are getting out of the Toddler Stage. At home under closer inspection I found them quite well made and the price.............well my age, long forgotten.
$200. plus shipping? A small box, shipping will be peanuts. Gun has fired less than a box of ammo.
bought a pink rascal for my daughter from wanstalls. Best price around. She just turned 7. It is a little long for her still but manageable. Took her out for the first time few weeks ago and she loved. My brother in law's friend had a movable gong and that made it 10x more enjoyable. That is something to think about after you pick the rifle. What would be the most enjoyable first experience? Hearing a gong go clang each time you hit it sure is fun.
Another vote for the Rascal. 2 photos of ours in use... My daughter a couple of years ago with the iron sights, my son last summer shooting prone with a Harris Bipod, and fixed 3X scope on an EGW scope base. Great little rifle, and accurate too.
