A kinda rare 870 done up "old school tactical"

Very, very nice!

To me it says one thing.... "all business".

... And that sums it up very well ! ..... The 870 in Police use, was just that, and sent a clearly understood message, with absolutely no room for misunderstanding. ( Worthwhile additions being, an over-sized safety, brightly colored "follower" and a sling ) ...... David K

How did that work? I take it was to allow the officer to get the shotgun quicker?

yeah, I'm curious too. I'm picturing something linked to the car ignition. So if the key is in and turned then the shotgun can be removed. If officer turns off key and takes it out the shotgun is automatically secured. Just guessing but that's how I would do it. Then you just have to train an officer to always take the key with him, which is something you want to happen anyways to prevent criminals from hopping in and driving off. Although that seems to happen anyways from time to time somehow....

Here are a few of my Tac 870s. I like wood too :)

.. YUP ! ... Added though, was a hidden switch to activate the release........ Believe it or not, but it was only on the rare occasion that the shotgun was actually deployed, apart from Annual Qualifications. ...... David K
