Bears very often show no impact. I shot a medium sized sow, broadside, double lung, with a 565 grain minnie bullet from a .58 cal muzzle loader and she took off at a dead run without even a flinch...didn't go too far though...

there is a story around here of a guy taking a short range shot with a 458lott. Bear still went like 60 yards, with a busted front shoulder...

That's a gorgeous color of fur. Congrats!
 
That is a beautiful bear. Most bears around here are black but there are some others. Have seen a number of twins this spring. Lucky to find such a beautiful colour phase.
 
Man, I have to get a colour phase bear! Five years in Manitoba, no shortage of colours around, (including one on our porch a couple of times...) and I still don't have one!

But, what's with this "in the woods with the new king" stuff? Are you talking about Trump? Trudeau? Gatehouse????

Surely, not the .375 Ruger...:)
