Since the inception of the Marie Nattrass trophy (awarded to the Canadian national champion for international trap - women's division) only two women have ever won it - Susan Nattrass and Cynthia Meyer. That monopoly was broken this Wednesday by Amanda Chudoba of Alberta. Technically still a junior, Amanda battled with Cynthia throughout the final to emerge victorious. In addition Amanda managed to shoot the MQS for the national team, a tremendous achievement in the adverse weather conditions. The championship was held over the last three days at the Winnipeg trap and skeet club.
Congratulations and kudos are due to Amanda. It felt like the passing of the torch as a young and capable talent has taken her place on the podium.
