A little confused...

Hello, here's the run down. I just joined a gun club and received my membership number via email, and also a letter stating that im a member, and that im in good standing with the club. I then purchased a pistol online, and my purchase went through. I was then contacted the following day from the gun store via email, asking for my PAL#, DOB, POB, and the name of the gun club im now a member of. They told me they are gathering my info in order to initiate a transfer. What are the next steps that are going to take place before i receive my pistol? Do i need to contact the CFO at all? or send them my membership letter? Or is everything out of my hands at this point and the gun store in question will handle the rest? Sorry, but this is my first restricted purchase and im not familiar with any of the process.
Any info would be of help. Thanks guys.
 
If you're buying from a business and not private seller then the store will do everything for you and ship the pistol once they receive approval
 
You can let the store handle the transfer process, or you can be proactive and call the cfo the same or next day and follow up on the transfer in person over the phone. The cfo will take all your info and process the transfer, if it's your first you might have to email or fax them a copy of your club membership. They will send you a notice of transfer in order to pick up your gun if you bought locally, since it's your first restricted they will automatically attach you long term att electronically to your pal/rpal. Ask them to email you your notice of transfer and that's pretty much it, I've always had the notice of transfer in my indox before the phone call with the cfo was over and the retailer called me an hour or two later to tell me the transfer was done and I could pick it up.

You then wait for the gun to be mailed to you or if it's from a local gun shop go pick it up, you then have to wait for the physical registration to come via snail mail to be able to take it to the range and shoot it. It seems pretty confusing at first, once you go through it once it's pretty straight up. The bc cfo is pretty on it, the fastest I've had a transfer completed and the gun in my hand was one day. A week later the registration showed up in the mail, gives you some time to strip it down and clean it and fondle it lol.
 
Just your att that been attached to your license and the notice of transfer is needed to pick up from the post office, the notice of transfer is technically your temp regi in order to bring it home.

Oh, if you do call in to follow up you'll need to provide the transfer number to the cfo. The retailer you bought the gun from should have provided it to you upon initiating the transfer. What did you buy?

When picking up the package at the post office will the post office employee ask to see the the notice of transfer? Or is it recommended you have it on you to present to law enforcement if your pulled over and inspected while on the way home from the post office?

If you haven't emailed or faxed proof of your membership I would do that asap, will speed up the process.

No they won't, Canada Post has no interest in what you are picking up, they just want to see ID. Have the transfer notification with you on the very slim chance you could be pulled over and you are fine :)

Canada post will not likely even know what's in the package, they will want to see the claim slip and your id. Notice of transfer is just to meet legal (aka stupid) transport and possession rules...
 
Every area has their own CFO , so Sask is a bit difference than ONT, for instance.
Store should handle everything.
Here for new guys , membership has to be on file with CFO to complete the transfer.
Post office does not know and should not know what is in the box, and don't tell them.
You can take it home on the transfer.
First one is the longest , 2nd, 3 th, hours to 3 days for the transfer, depending how busy they are.
 
Domestic parcels (within Canada) do not have, and do not require details of the contents to be listed on the package or label. You are only required to bring your parcel delivery notice card (if picking up at the post office) and your ID to sign for your parcel.
This I know for sure.
