Well with the majority of the lakes around finally clearing of ice this week it was time to get out and chase down some trout. So myself, my buddy and his Dad decided to try one of our favorite Splake lakes and were fortunate enough to come away with a nice catch and good feed of trout. Weather was the pits, windy and cold with occasional rain but sure felt good to be out on water you couldnt walk on for a change! Was a few other boats on the lake but not near the number of years past and most were not having any luck. We found the fish in one small 200 yard stretch of narrows between some islands and got them all by trolling perch colored sculpin flies on our fly rods with a full sink line about 65-75 feet back of the boat. Cant wait to fry them up tonoght!
