I also spend a bit of time over on the S&W Forum, and this thread- "625-6 in for spa treatment"- caught my eye. It's an ongoing project and worth reading through.

"...this gun was stolen some 7+ years ago and recently recovered a couple states away on an unrelated LE action. The owner, who's a member here, got it back early last month after clearing a few legal hurdles.

And now it's here on the healing bench for a checkup."

The gun had obviously been pretty badly treated but this guy is doing a wonderful job of restoring it, plus some custom touches.
