a little help on Crown land clay shooting: Brighton Provincial Wildlife Area

9.3 Mauser - you're right the website says they're closed

Arietta - It's fantastic that I now know of so many places to go visit once we are able. Thanks for the suggestions

Superbrad - haha, watching the long faces in the city makes it even more enjoyable to get out when I do :).

Longwalker, I applaud you for trying, not everyone in the city is a city-person haha

Running Fool - Sounds great, will do. Galt resembles the German city I do most of my hunting in!
Continuing with your message on leaving no trace... I did some research but found only resin/biodegradable wads. The pellets seem to be standard lead or steel shot. Hopefully someone develops a alternative..

thanks again!

I wouldn’t lose any sleep over a few plastic wads and some lead pellets. But when you want to shoot at Galt let me know and I will make sure you have fun.

You are very cordial, polite and level headed..... Are you sure you are from Toronto?...... Lol

Bwahhh!!!!

Very nice of you Runningfool, class act! OP, once the clubs open, shoot me a PM and I'll see if you can make it out to Oshawa with me as a guest, just want to prove Runningfool wrong again...LOL

All the clays I've ever bought or seen for sale at any store, bass pro/cabelas/sail are biodegradable. Every time a new person comes on and asks about shooting on crown land theres ALWAYS a bunch who try an dry gulch them even after they've specified their plans to clean up. Busted clay birds in the woods is NOT the same as a shot up fridge ffs.

Same with the immediate suggestion of "just go to a club". Clubs are expensive, few and far between (especially where the OP is) and oft times stuffy and crowded with uptight shooters that have a few too many barrels up their backsides.

OP idk if that area is legal or not but if it is, go have some fun busting clays.

Biodegradable in about 10 years. But in the meantime, bright orange broken clays are an eyesore for other users of the park.

OP- both Oshawa gun club and Toronto international trap and skeet offer shotgun sports to the public. Either club is great, but if I had to pick one, I’d go to Oshawa. I am also a member there.

And more bad PR for firearms owners. Then everyone wonders why more rules show up and the opposition grows stronger.

As far as Gun clubs being expensive, just wait. If we keep shooting ourselves in the foot, the only people shooting will be wealthy folks.

Yorgi, thank you for the invite! I will definitely be in touch. Looking forward to trying the gun clubs.
1963 Beretta, indeed Oshawa and cookstown look good. No Mossberg yet but soon :)
