Last week I wast at the range sighting in my shotgun for deer season. i have a remington 870 tactical with xs ghost ring sights, and was shooting wincheter rackmaster 2 3/4"- 1 1/8oz slugs and also winchester super x 2 3/4- 1oz slugs. i was also using a improved cylinder choke. my problem is at 25 yards i am conststantly shooting 8" to 10" high, i have the ghost ring sight turnd down as far as it will go. i'm considering trying a rifled choke tube or challenger slugs but other then that i have no other solutions. thanks for any input.

I dought that a rifled choke tube will do much in lowering the poi .sounds as thought you may need a taller front sight or a higher front sight ramp.

I'm trying to visualize this in my head, would a 6 o clock, sight picture correct this?

try placing the front sight at the bottom of the ring.

I would suggest a 6 o'clock hold. (target sitting on top of the bead) also at a slightly longer distance ie 50 or 75 yards. If this doesn't help, a taller front sight is in order.
